Our nation grieves

I cannot wrap my mind around why anyone could walk into a school and start shooting . Other than the fact that this was one sick, evil monster. My prayers are with the familiar, community and the souls of the victims of this horrible act of insanity. God be with us all and the victim's in CT.

Ironmam 2012 Kona Hawaii

Aloha! This year we got to scheduled our Hawaii trip so that we did not fly out and leave the day of the Ironman world Championships. We actually got a spot to observe the athletes finishing the event. The energy was amazing, the athletes were of every age and race, county, and physical shape. Some were cancer survivors, living with cancer, amputees, and other dissabilities. Young and old I walked away from this event knowing that no matter how bad I think things are.. if I have the spirit and determination to do something. With dedication commitments and training... Yeah lots of training.. I could do it. Funny though.I don't want to do a ironman .. I would however like to go snowshoeing. In Hawaii  I love going barefoot.

Yellowstone

We loaded up our camper and headed for Yellowstone this past September. It was a amazing trip. We loved just sitting to watch the buffalo herds. Not to mention the wolf, the eagles and the scenery. Aaahhh nature!

Growing our own!

A bountiful garden is a blessing. We get organic goodness for me to can, bake, dehydrate and to eat fresh picked organic vegies out of the garden. Here ate some pictures of our bounty. Next year we ate planning to double our plantings.

Our chickens are finally laying

After 6 months of feeding and Ken building a very nice henhouse we started getting farm fresh eggs... Yay!

Thankful at Thanksgiving

I was so Greatful that this being our first Thanksgiving here on Idaho that some of our family was able to join us. Justin and Christina with the kids were here, Blaine was home from college, and my sister Tracy and her husband Bill made it up from Nevada. It was a fun week of football, thriftstore and antique shopping. We chased the chickens, painted rocks with Autumn, laughed until my ribs hurt as well as reunited my childhood cousins with my sister and O and all our family's got to meet for the first time!...,we ate feeling very blessed!

Missing in Blog actipn

O.k. I'm guilty as charged. My life has been extremly busy. And about to get bussier. One more of our wishes were granted. We have been wanting a Australian Shepherd dog for years. We lucked out. Volunteering at Canyon County Animal Shelter gave us the opportunity to get first chance at adopting our Ginger. She is a two month old Red Merle. We have had her for two days, so far so good. She is a good girl with a huge personality. We look foward to seeing her grow.

Such a busy Summer

Autumn Meets Baby Goat Jack
I haven't posted since July. Not enough hours in a day.  We have had our Lovely little Grandaughter here with us over summer and she goes home on Monday.  We enjoyed her visit.  We did so much, besides helping Grandma and Grandpa settle into the new house, we worked in the garden, got baby chicks, went to the Emmett cherry Festival, The Boise Music Festival, Boise Zoo, The Stampde Rodeo, Camping at Cascade Lake for her Birthday. Went to the Movies, Made crafts... she discoverd paper punches and glitter glue. So that was a lot of fun.  Our garden is producing like crazy and Ive been busy putting food up for the winter.  I also have learned how to make raw milk butter and am on trek to make homemade cheese.   Love this Country life.

At the Boise zoo, we were in the Butterfly Garden and they liked my hat.
They landed on Kens hat too.

Taking a walk over a bridge on the Snake River.

Autumn loved our Friends chickens so much that we went and got our own.
Holding one of our two day old chicks. We ended up getting 6.

At the Stampede Rodeo

These Cowboys are so crazy!
and so are these guys......

Our Garden is Thriving.

A Visit from friend Beth and her Man Bud.So good to see them.
They just spent 3 weeks Fly fishing the Madison River in Montana.

Autumn took a picture of me working in my craft room.  I was designing and making class kits for a class I was teaching this past week.  The books turned out adorable. With a EiEio Theme .  Fun.

This Big Garden shed was in need of new siding and paint.  It was old, worn out and downright ugly. So with a lot of work, we turned this ugly duckling into a beautiful swan.  will post a new picture of the finished garden .
Dehydrated Zucchinni gets Sealed then tossed in the freezer. Then in the winter I will throw it in homemade soup.

Autumn Loves to pick vegetables from the Garden.

Jumping on a Trampoline is so much fun, its even more fun when Moo the Dog joins in.

Camping on the water of Cascade Lake is so relaxing. Ken got to do his favorite thing... he got to go fishing..... a LOT.

Autumn got to swim
and She had a BIRTHDAY while camping... so she got Presents.

Carin Flys in From California for a visit.

Meet Loretta and Paul
They like to play on peoples backs
especially Kens

Because of Loretta and Paul, we decided that next year... we will get our own Goats.

Raw Milk Homemade Ice Cream is So YUMMY, go ahead and ask the Ice Cream Expert.

So, as you can see its been a busy summer. We've been unpacking, gardening, building, going places and having fun.  The Country life is a life for us. We don't miss the hustle and bustle of the busy life we had in California. Love retirement and love being able to Breath.  Yes, we miss our friends and family in California but for us... this is exactley where we want to be.
