Winter is fast approaching... so I have been sooooo busy here.

Harvesing the garden and not to mention all the herbs. Tinctures to make, soaps to set to cure...  I do love my life here on this little plot of land.  Love the fact that if you give to nature it gives back 10 fold... I love the fact that a little effort produces great things.    Here are some pictures of what I've been up to....
How do you celebrate the patch of land you live on?
soaps to start off with... this one is Goatsmilk honey and oats,
Then I made some Calendual shae butter soap that is wonderful to smell, touch and feel.
I grow a LOT of lavender, I make tinctures, salves and now I tried my hand at making lavender soap... its luscious and yummy. Such a relaxing smell and feel.

but I was on a roll ya know.. so I made up some seasonal soaps too.... like
pumkin spice latte's?  My lovely daughter in law recommended I try to make something like that yummy seasonal drink ... and I did... drum roll please........

I loved that one so much I made a video to send to my daughter in law because the whole idea was hers.. so I must give credit where credit is due.

well....
I hope this works... its late, I'm tired and will correct my mistakes here tomorrow.

nighty night.

Prepping for cold and flu season?

This will keep the cruds away. Take a jar any size and fill it 1/2 to 3/4 fullbof peeled raw garlic cloves. Then cover the garlic with honey. Non processed .. only raw honey works for this.   Then cap but leave it a tad loose because it needs to breath. Shake it every day for a month. It will change color and consistency. Gett a little runny.   I tighten my cap up before shaking it.    After a month it's usable but the longer it sits the better it will be . Fermented    Honey and garlic ... it will keep the cruds away!  Eat a clove with some of the honey everyday.   Oh leave about 1/4 of the jar empty so. You don't want to overfill.

All in a day's work

Today I woke up not feeling to well, just kinda off.. tired and not as energetic as I usually am and with a hint of a UTI starting.   I thought oh heck, I'm sure I've got something here that can help me. Oregano oil in capsules just in case it is a UTI and a Oregon Grape Root infusion  as well as a stinging nettle infusion .. and since I was on a roll .. I made a wonderful oat straw infusion.   All three can be stored in the fridge and used over a couple of days.    Since I've signed up for a few events this fall I figured since it was so very hot outside that I would begin my herbal tinctures and some calendula ointment.   Itbwas to hotbto worknin the garden, so my perfect option was herbal products.  So in a day's work, I've made several tinctures, the infusions, mullein and garlic ear oil, body butter bars and calendula ointment.  I loved the smells that permeates my home and the sight of all the filled jars and the molds filled with all the goodness in them. I will be posting the items on a new page soon.  But here's a peek in the meantime.
